Five designs to consider for your perfect Easter Wedding Cake
2013 is one of those years when we enjoy an early Easter and, for me, it is the start of the Spring proper even if (as in this year) the weather is some way behind! The religious Easter message itself, the emerging spring flowers and, of course, all the bright packaging of those Easter eggs in the shops really lifts the spirits and you can look forward to the warmer days and longer daylight hours.
A wedding is a beautiful event at any time of year, but celebrating at one of seasonal high days and holidays such as Easter, opens up a whole raft of design ideas for your cake (and “do” as a whole). So, if you’re planning your Easter wedding for 2014, why not take a look at my pick of Easter themed cake designs below…
First up; an absolutely STUNNING pink egg shaped, floral bedecked cake… which could easily be produced in other spring colours and flowers (what about a pale yellow background and beautiful daffodil blooms for instance?). This one is made by Pamela McCaffrey of Made with Love by Me
For a retro look, what about this for a bit of fun, from The Wedding Cake Shoppe – a “Love Heart” covered extravaganza? Sweet, fun and guaranteed to raise a smile.
For many, yellow is the signature colour for Springtime… if this is your colour palette of choice you would find it difficult to improve on this beautiful cake by Cakes by Charlie. The attention to detail is phenomenal but the overall impression is deceptively simple and elegantly understated.
For the chocoholic couples out there, why not indulge in Mini Egg & Cigarello confection such as this, as featured on English Wedding blog?
and finally, a timeless classic Narcissi 3-tier from Peggy Porschen – a luxury bespoke option, but unforgettably beautiful.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my choice of larger sized Easter/Springtime wedding cakes and have seen something to inspire you for your own special cake.
